Run coaching to help you achieve your goals

I offer a completely bespoke online coaching service based on your ability, lifestyle, experience and goals. Whether it’s your first 5k, a marathon, racing on the fells & trails, or an arduous ultra, my personalised coaching will get you there.

In addition to online coaching I also offer face-to-face technique sessions and guided runs for individuals or groups.

Online Coaching

An online coaching package including weekly video calls to discuss your progress & set your training plan. Constant support by messenger or email and access to all my running resources.

Face-to-Face Coaching

Technique sessions for road, off-road and fell running. Downhill running technique a speciality! I also offer coached training sessions either on the track, road or trails. All for groups or individuals.

Guided Runs

I am available for guided trail runs around the Lake District and surrounding areas. Groups or individuals.

I have been running for a good number of years but never had a coach before. With some big races due I decided to approach Rowan for coaching to put myself in the best shape I could be for them. Rowan’s downhill running session has totally transformed my runs in the fells – I have been and will continue to recommend it to anyone!
I was expecting a fairly uninteresting session doing hill reps, but he put together a good loop round Whitbarrow completely personalised to the issues I was having. His coaching style helped me build up my confidence while not feeling pressured into doing things. Rowan has a great energy for downhill running which rubs off on you during the session. I found myself going from hating it and being really tense, to relaxing and having fun with it.

I first contacted Rowan to support my come-back to ultra-running after 5 years out due to a medical condition (I’m 67). We put together a plan that focused on building confidence and consistency and I’ve been following that for about 6 months. Rowan is incredibly supportive, he acknowledges even minor successes while keeping up a gentle pressure to perform, and ensures that the schedule we agree is sufficiently challenging without straying towards ‘too much – too soon’ He is always ready to respond to questions but will freely admit when something is a specialist query and needs to be answered by a specialist.

Before Rowan started coaching me, I had fallen out of love with running and was stuck in a rut with continuous niggles.
